Support where it matters!

Our mission is to empower Aboriginal girls and young women by building their cultural identity, positive self-esteem, resilience, and personal empowerment through strong, trusting mentor-mentee relationships and culturally rich activities, ultimately contributing to the Closing the Gap targets in health, education, and employment.

Empowered Tiddas is a vital mentoring program delivered by Ripe Mentoring Pty Ltd to meet the specific needs of Aboriginal girls and young women in the Shoalhaven, addressing inequity in access to high-quality cultural and educational support. The program is based on strong, trusting mentor-mentee relationships, promoting gender and health equity, physical activity, mental well-being, and connection to culture and country.
"Our program consistently receives high praise from participants, with the majority rating their experience 5/5 stars. Students highlight the Yarning Circle as a transformative space for group bonding and personal reflection. By integrating cultural activities—such as storytelling from Elders and traditional dance—with creative arts, we provide a holistic environment where young women feel empowered to express their identity. Students frequently report that the program helps them identify their strengths, set goals, and build lasting connections with their peers and mentors."
"Watching these students transform has been an incredible privilege. Through our focus on goal setting and life skills, we didn’t just teach them—we empowered them. The highlight for me was seeing the entire group of girls bond as a single unit for the first time. We’ve given them the tools to thrive both individually and together."
